Complete 4 Wheel Brake Job on 1997 Ford Explorer (works on other Fords too)
This is a video documenting the whole process of completing a 4-Wheel Disc brake job on both axles of a 1997-2004 Explorer. This procedure is the same as many other Fords with secondary drum parking brakes integrated into the rear rotor.

Replacing a ford ranger fuel pump (lifting bed)
Просмотров 151 тыс.8 лет назад
I lift the bed and change out the fuel pump that tested bad in a previous video. Lifting the bed is the easy way to change the pump: there is one caveat. If the tank is dirty you need to drop the tank and clean it out the old fashioned way. Steps: 1. Remove the fuel pressure relay and depressurize the system 2. Remove tailgate 3.Remove the 6 torx 55 bed bolts 4.Remove taillights and push harnes...
Pressure Testing an In-tank Fuel Pump (Ranger V6 all 1988-94)
Просмотров 38 тыс.8 лет назад
I show how to troubleshoot and diagnose an in-tank fuel pump on the project 1991 ranger. This technique works for all vehicles new and old. You need to pressure test the pump so you know if it really is the issue and you aren't just wasting money! Checkout more info @ pauls4x4.com I put the full write up on my blog. Note: I know the fpr is good so I flubbed that part of the test. It should go u...
How to lap valves to check fit

A quick video on how to lap valves to check fit between the valve and the cylinder head. You can use this technique to fix seats, but I prefer it more for just double checking tolerances. Checkout more info @ pauls4x4.com
How to change transmission mounts
Просмотров 35 тыс.8 лет назад
I show on my 1990 Ford Ranger 4x4 how to change RWD transmission mounts on most trucks without having to drop the transmission cross member. This works for every brand of truck and pretty much every model on the road. Also, this works for RWD cars up into the late 1980's and even some of the newer models like 90's Camaro's and Trans-ams. The steps are pretty basic. 1. Loosen all fasteners 2. Ja...

Fix a Ford Fuel Guage that reads empty - Anti-Slosh module

I assume you checked the voltage, etc. This is normally how you fix when it jumps from full to empty and stays there when you turn on your car/truck
How to change a transmission filter in an Automatic
Просмотров 3,5 тыс.8 лет назад
I do a real simple breakdown while servicing my 1991 4x4 Ford Ranger 2.9. It's a simple task that cost about $25 dollars yet saves $1000's in repair cost if done religiously.

Why don't you just pump the old fluid out of the rear differential like you would the front.. it's a lot easier...🤔
Changing the trans fluid, the filter and the original transmission Pan to new one with drain plug on my 1989 and 1990.Bronco 2s Thanks for the video, every bit helps!
would this still work on a 2008 F150?
💜💚🇺🇲🌎🌏🌍👽🥊💪🧠
Don’t mansplain me man! Seriously though thanks for the info. I called Oreillys and asked them if they had a transmission mount. Said nothing came up that looked like a mount. Watched this video so I knew exactly what it looked like went up there and had them look it up again and it was literally the first thing at the top of the search 🤦🏼♂️
Where is the fuel pressure port on these/where are you hooking your gauge up to?
That one had to be put inline I believe but it has been a few years
What is the part number for the wiring connecter for connecting the fuel sending unit? Mine crumbled into pieces.
I found you my savior 😘
I have to say thank you for making such a clear and concise video. Awesome editing BTW. I wish all videos were like this for automotive repairs.
Lt. Dan! I didn't know you did auto repair. 😉👍
Hey great video
My 2.9. has a slight misfire and when it warms up it only misfires low Rpm & started overheating lately it'll spike then drop , spike again , like the thermostat opening fast
great job
How do you actually know your mount is bad? Does it wiggle? Is it possible for the rubber to appear fine but it is actually wornout?
I just replaced my complete fuel pump with one from amazon. Now truck starts up but fuel gage stays down on e. Could it be slosh module or falty amazon pump? 02 f150 4.6
Did you end up finding out ? I have this problem with my 2002 Ford Explorer but I’m not sure what the exact issue is
@@B3b2022 yes. My tank was actually on empty. I filled it up all the way and everything is in sync now.
Thanks I'll try it on my 2000 ford ranger that's reading Past Full Tank
needed more information on how to actually do it, try not waving it around so we can actually see what you do
pull the plug on the wiring harness , driver side, all the way back, accessible under the truck, then you don't need to remove tail light bulbs.
Hello I have a ford F150 and the gadget is on empty line!!! Is this the same problem as you mentikn?
Good video! So this is the only way to do it with taking the bed off
Turn the key, turn it back, turn the key, turn it back. That's what solved my problem. Is that priming it? Thank You Reverend Paul.
Yeah. The pump primes for 3 second whenever the igition is turned on.
Why has everyone that I've seen. Always done the easy one. Maybe you all done know how to do the hard oned
Do the left trans mountain a 2007 Chev equinox
lower truck don't have it kant find one ?????
Best tutorial ever
The Best tutorial video!!! Thanks!
Due to a battery acid issue, I had to replace my transmission at 20k miles. The new transmission (same year used with 14k miles) has been working great, except recently at 25k miles I hear a pop the first time I reverse. The van is still under factory powertrain warranty. A tire shop is saying my issue is transmission mounts. How is this possible at 25k miles? Is it possible to damage transmission mounts from off-roading?
❤❤😊
Im so glad I got rid of my2.9 it had endless issues
I hope you know what your talking about cause I'm on my own
Very helpful. I ended up grinding the bolts off, that was about the hardest part. Can't wait to drive it again after about 5 yrs.
Mines been sitting 5 years with about an eighth of a tank of gas in it. Did u have to drop your tank & clean it?
@@JoshAU44 No, I removed the box. The tank strap bolts were to far rusted. The gas in tank must of evaporated & the pump was completely disintegrated into pieces.
Top!!
the gauge I got rented from the auto parts store looks' band new but it reads zero even when the engine is running. I tried removing the Schrader valve and still got zero pressure, I can drive the bronco at low speeds, around 25 mph but faster than that it cuts out.
Thats a bad gauge then. Cutting out at 25 mph makes me think its more likely the distributor (can it rev?) or manifold pressure sensor etc. Than fuel. These often just starve and stall completely then restart after 30 mins when the pump is going.
@@vonleonhardt2 it can rev, but it cuts out. New distributor was installed due to a stripped bolt that hold the ignition control module. And I went as far as installing new ignition coil, plug wires, cap and rotor too. It all started when it ran perfectly but on rare occasions it would shut off while doing 55, it would shut off nice and clean, no coughing or sputtering at all. I thought it was due to the ignition module overheating due to the broken mounting screw so I decided to replace the entire distributor. After I installed the new distributor it would cut out while in park and accelerating to 1500 rpm and could not drive at all. So I reinstalled the old distributor thinking the new one had bad components, that did not resolve it, it kept cutting out. I reinstalled the new distributor, quadruple checked my timing at 10 deg BTDC, ensuring the rooter pointed to the #1 piston on the cap, but it’s still cutting out. Had I not changed the distributor I bet it would run fine except for the occasional dying while on the freeway. I’m so sure I installed the distributor correctly that I’m looking at fuel delivery now.
Im having a hard time getting the bed back on as the bolt clips have moved and I can only see one clip that the bed bolt goes in
Will this work on a 2004 ford ranger
Most likely not.
"Don't do it", " nnnno"!! Bahahhaa
Will this work on my 97 f350 zf5?
Should.
Why does the fluid have to be hot?
My 1999 3.0 ranger cylinder 4 was dead because of a bent valve but new head later it runs great
Thank you, Paul! You gave me the answer 40 seconds into the video.
You totally skipped the gasket application?
There's really nothing special to it. Just a regular paper gasket, goes on dry, maybe some gasket glue if its your thing.
My fuel gauge away full , this is resolve?????
Skipping around too much didn’t help with needing to know how to take shit off
What cause transmission mount to break down?
My 2010 ranger has 10 bed bolts
This is for a ohv motor not a sohc motor
Your transmission cross member looks new, where did you buy it? My ranger has the bushing type and I want to covert it to this.
Thats just the magic of a California car. If I remember its model year specific/ engine combo on some of that stuff. That truck had a gutless 2.9
Thanks
Awesome video and thanks for including what size of tool was needed. Getting ready to replace my pump and everyone says on a ranger bed removal is the easiest
Thank u!
